I am a Ph.D. student in the Clayton-Bush Lab at the University of Utah. My focus is evolutionary ecology and host-symbiont interactions. I completed my BA in Zoology and Microbiology from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2019.
I have always had an interest in wildlife. Growing up I would spend most of my days outside bird watching. My favorite bedtime story was the Peterson Guide to Birds. My introduction to research came in elementary school when I met my mentor Dr. Jed Burtt, a Zoology professor at Ohio Wesleyan University. Through Jed's mentorship I was able to conduct research throughout middle and high school. My interest in research continued into undergraduate where I focused on aspects of avian morphology and plumage microbiota. My interests are spread out across biology with focuses in ecology, evolutionary biology, and microbiology. In my free time, I enjoy reading and playing video games. |
